In order to make Recess financially accessible to as many people as possible, we are offering tickets at five different pricing levels, which will all go on sale at the same time. There are a limited number of tickets at each level, so please consider your financial situation and buy a ticket at the high end of what you can afford. This leaves the cheaper tickets available for folks who couldn't otherwise afford to come. 

Recess Scholarship Program: Recess has as one of its highest value the value of community inclusiveness.  We have developed our own Scholarship Program to stay true to our commitment to making sure no one is excluded from our community due to finances. If you want to come, but feel held back by your financial situations, fill out a scholarship and volunteer application below so that we can find a way for you to join us.  

Scholarship Program Donation/Additional Ticket Contribution
Feel as if you fit in-between an income tier? Want to help our project of making partner dancing accessible to everyone in our community?  Select the bellow "Donation/Additional Contributions" ticket in addition to your standard ticket to donate a chosen amount to our scholarship program or to add money to your above purchased ticket to make our system a true "sliding scale" checkout system. 

Event Tickets: How Much and For What

  • $45.00 USD Event Food Ticket:  4 days of amazing community-cooked food!
  • $95.00 USD: Rent your own bed bed for your entire stay at the event! We only have 40 beds, they will be sold and selected on a first come first serve basis. There are only a few double beds, be sure to check The Current Room Availability before you plan on having a double bed (needing 2 of these tickets). However, you can always pull beds together! Everyone else will be camping on site.
  • $120.00 USD: Low-Income Ticket: This lower-mid income ticket is partially subsidized by the higher ticket tiers.  Please only buy this ticket if you consider yourself in the bottom fourth of our community's income bracket.
  • $155.00 USD: Lower-Mid Income Ticket: These middle two tickets are based on the actual per-head cost of producing the event.
  • $205.00 USD Mid Income Ticket: These middle two tickets are based on the actual per-head cost of producing the event.
  • $245.00 USD: Upper-Income Ticket:  This upper-mid income ticket helps to subsidize cheaper tickets for your less-financially-stable Recess dancer-family members. You are the "bread and butter" of this community, you love us and we love you, you even look great!
  • $365.00 USD: Benevolent Gentry Ticket: This "Benevolent Gentry" ticket helps to subsidize cheaper tickets for your less-financially-stable dancer-family members. You are the "sugar mama and papas" of this community, you support us and we support you, you are charming and overwhelmingly adored by others.
  • Help support the Recess Scholarship Program!: Add whatever you want to your ticket to help us give financial access to those who cannot afford the low-income ticket. 

How To Pay and Register (for non-Americans)

Since our community is so international we are trying to use a system that is the same no matter what currency you have in your bank account, with none of the transfer fees.  Follow these few easy steps to pay in USD with zero fees.   1. Do some simple math, handy calculator provided to the right, and add up the amount in USD ($) (to pay us).  Be sure to add up everything you want to pay for: your event ticket, food ticket, bed spot (if you are not camping), and/or any scholarship contribution you want to make. 
  2. CLICK HERE TO PAY, we are using Transferwise. Pay to the email [email protected] and to the name Blues Recess. Its a special service that takes whatever currency you want to pay with and turns it magically into US Dollars for us. Just enter the amount you want to pay to in USD, the currency you want to pay from, and then hit "Get Started" or "Commencer."  When checking out BE SURE TO PAY "TO" USD (US DOLLARS), as we are Americans after all!  Its free for your first time and super cheep.  
  3. Then FILL OUT THIS FORM to tell us a little about you, and you are done!
